External Portal lets you create shareable links that allow external viewers — such as LPs, partners, or advisors — to see performance data for a specific portfolio without full access to your workspace.
External Portal is available on Pro and Team plans.
  1. Navigate to Settings > External Portal.
  2. Click Create Portal Link.
  3. Select the Portfolio you want to share data from.
  4. Enter a Portal Link Name (e.g. “UpOnly Fund 1”).
  5. Optionally set a Passphrase (minimum 8 characters) to restrict access.
  6. Configure which Data Sections to display:
    • Portfolio Overview — shows the total portfolio value.
    • Performance Chart — shows the last 30 days of portfolio performance.
  7. Click Create Link.
The link is immediately active and can be shared with external viewers. The External Portal settings page shows a table of all portal links across your workspace. For each link you can:
  • Copy the link URL to share it.
  • Edit the name, passphrase, or data sections.
  • Activate / Deactivate a link. Deactivated links are no longer accessible to viewers.
  • Delete a link permanently.

What External Viewers See

Portal links follow this URL format:
https://lighthouse.one/portal/{portfolio-slug}/{identifier}
When a viewer opens the link:
  • If the link is passphrase-protected, they are prompted to enter the passphrase before seeing any data.
  • The Overview section shows the total portfolio value and when the snapshot was taken.
  • The Performance section shows a 30-day area chart of portfolio value.
No account details, individual positions, strategies, or other portfolio data is exposed through the portal. Only the data sections you explicitly enable are visible.

Security

  • Passphrases are hashed server-side and never stored in plaintext.
  • Deactivating a link immediately blocks access for all viewers.
  • Portal endpoints are rate-limited to 30 requests per minute per IP address.
Changing your workspace slug will break existing portal URLs. If you need to update your workspace URL, you will need to re-share the new portal links.
